3.15pm: Drinks reception at Christ Church, including cutting the wedding cake
4.30pm: Reception begins at the Assembly Rooms
6pm: Dinner served
8pm: A chance to throw some shapes on the dance floor or have a quiet drink
in the bar
11pm: Sarah and Iain leave
12 midnight: Reception ends
Hopefully the outline above will give you some idea of what's happening when but all the timings are rather approximate.
Holiday Inn
We have arranged a reduced rate of £85 per room per night (including breakfast) at the Holiday Inn Express in Bath. To book rooms at this rate visit www.expressbath.co.uk and in the 'Offer Code' box enter OCK for Friday night and HIS for Saturday night or telephone 01225 303000. Bookings must be made before 15th May 2009 but can be cancelled up till 4pm on the day of arrival.
Please note the hotel cannot guarantee that rooms will be available before 3pm on the day of arrival.
Travelodge
Prices at the Travelodge Bath Waterside hotel start from £49. Travelodge only recently took over this hotel so we've no idea what it's like. (We wouldn't recommend the Travelodge Bath Central)

The Bath Tourist Office can provide information about other hotels and B&Bs in the Bath area.
Getting into Bath
Whatever your sat. nav. or internet route planner may say, if you are coming from the M4 to Bath you do not want to follow the A46 to join the A4. Traffic in the area is always bad and on Saturdays (and during the rush hour) the A4 more or less grinds to a halt.
Instead… From the M4 exit at junction 18 (signposted Bath) and take the A46 towards Bath. Follow the A46 as it passes through Pennsylvania. As you leave Pennsylvania turn right at the round-a-bout onto the A420 (follow signs for the racecourse). Take the first turning on your left (approx 0.8miles after the round-a-bout) onto Freezinghill Lane. At the T-junction turn left to continue up the hill (still following signs to the racecourse). You will pass Bath Racecourse on your right; continue straight on as the road drop down into Bath. At the T-junction turn right down the hill. This brings you into Bath on Lansdown Road. Julian Road (where Christ Church is) is the 4th turning on your right.
Parking
Parking at the church is severely limited and so will be reserved for our disabled guests only. There is no parking at all at the Assembly Rooms. Most of the on street parking in the area is for residents only or pay and display limited to 2 hours. The nearest long stay car park is Charlotte Street or short stay (up to 4 hours) at the Podium.
As you will see from the map the Assembly Rooms are very close to Christ Church (it's less than a 2 minute walk even wearing heels!) so there is no point trying to drive between the two. We are hoping to walk ourselves - weather permitting.
If you are staying overnight in Bath we would suggest parking at your hotel and getting a taxi or walking to the church from there. Taxis can be booked in advance to pick you up with V Cars (01225 464646) or Abbey Taxis (01225 444444).
